The fox was alone in the deep, ancient wood
And only the moon saw him, only the moon,
The fox heard the moon singing to the wood
And only the moon saw him in the clearing.
There is a light hidden in the heart of creatures;
The fox heard the song with his inner light;
In his heart he heard the bright moon singing.
In the deep wood he heard the moon, and wept,
And only the moon heard him, only the moon.
